Good Afternoon, Warren Scholars, Families, and Staff,

We have some important information as we start the 2024-25 school year.

Tomorrow is the day! The first day of the 2024-2025 school year! Please remember that tomorrow is the first day for Kindergarten - 9th Grade Students Only. 10th, 11th, and 12th graders will start on Friday. Warren Early Childhood Center students will start on Monday, July 29th.

It is a long-standing tradition in Warren for our transportation team to contact families prior to the start of the school year with their student's bus information. If you have not yet received a call you may contact Warren Transportation at 317-532-2820.

Below are some helpful transportation tips to start the year:

  1. It is important that your student be

out a minimum of 15 minutes

    prior to

    their scheduled pick-up time.

  2. For the safety of your student,

it is critical that we have

a good working phone number in our system so that you will always receive important information on your student's bus.

  3. Bus information is available in ParentVUE. Click on the Student Info tab in ParentVUE and scroll down to Transportation. There you will see the bus number, bus stop, and time for both pickup and drop off.

  4. Once school starts you can track your child's bus through the MY STOP APP on your phone or tablet; follow the directions on the district website under

    Transportation/MY STOP.

You will need your student number and the student's date of birth.

Student attendance will continue to be a top priority for our schools again this school year. I am excited to share that all of our schools increased their student attendance last school year. One area that continues to be an area for improvement is the amount of unexcused absences we observe. If your student is going to miss school, please contact the school in one of the following ways:

  1. All schools have an attendance hotline. If you know your child is going to be absent, please call the school’s main line and select the attendance option to report the absence.

  2. If your child is absent and has not been called in, parents/caregivers will receive a ParentSquare absence notification. Parents/caregivers can respond to this message with the absence reason on the same day of the absence.

  3. If your child is absent due to illness or a medical appointment in addition to reporting the absence, please send

    in

    an excuse note.

We appreciate your communication when your child is absent from school.

This past year, the Indiana General Assembly passed a new law prohibiting cell phones and personal communication devices in schools. As a result of this, we want to inform you about our updated cell phone / personal communication device policy. Students in PreK-8 are not allowed to use cell phones / personal communication devices on school grounds or buses unless there is a medical purpose. High school students may use their cell phones / personal communication devices in class only with the approval of the teacher or for a medical purpose. Each school will provide additional details as needed.  We appreciate your support as we try to keep our students safe and focused on their learning.

I am looking forward to an outstanding 2024-2025 school year. If there is anything we can do to support you or your child this year, please let me know.

We Can Do It!

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
