Snow White 2025

Once again, Disney has come out with another live-action remake. This time it was a remake of the very first Disney princess movie, “Snow White.” This remake was released on March 21 and is an hour and 49 minutes long, and despite early criticisms of the film, it was still enjoyable and interesting.

The movie was directed by Marc Webb, and the music in the movie is done and written by multiple artists, including Justin Paul and Benj Pasek. The budget for this film was $290 million, and so far it has made $200.3 million worldwide, even with all the doubt and uneasiness about the movie before it was released.

The “Snow White” 2025 film stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White, Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, Andrew Burnap as Jonathan or the love interest, and Patrick Page as the iconic magic mirror.

Additionally, in the movie they changed the title of the “Seven Dwarfs” due to being offensive to the actors, and they are now known as seven “magical beings.”

Audiences were already suspicious and posting bad reviews about the cast, specifically about Rachel Zegler, who, in some of the audience's opinion, didn’t fit the role of Snow White. Most of the reviews say that Zegler lacks the charm and kindness a Disney princess should have but that her voice was phenomenal.

And while they did slightly change the original plot of the movie, it actually made it more interesting. Instead of the movie being focused on who is the fairest of them all, it is also about how Snow White tries to regain the prosperity of her kingdom. In the movie, the king and queen, Snow White’s parents, had her on the day of a snowstorm until the queen became ill and died. After the death of the original queen, the king then ends up marrying the Evil Queen who has now put the kingdom in a state of poverty. All the while, Snow White is confined to the castle and is not allowed to leave as she serves as a maid.

The Evil Queen is fearful if Snow White’s beauty will be far greater than hers, so the queen asks the magic mirror daily the iconic question of “Who is the fairest of them all?” One day though, Snow White sees Jonathan, who is the leader of a group of bandits that are raiding the castle pantry. Jonathan then is sentenced to be restrained to the gates, and she frees him.

On that very same day, the Evil Queen discovers that Snow White is the fairest in the land and sends her into the woods with the royal huntsman, who is assigned to kill her and to bring back her heart inside a jeweled encrusted box as proof that he has killed her. The huntsman cannot bring himself to do it, and he warns Snow White of the queen and urges her to run away. Snow White quickly runs into the forest where she then stumbles upon the cottage of   seven magical beings.

In short, the “Snow White” remake is not as bad as the allegations have made it out to be. It is a family-friendly movie that is not just about beauty, but it is also about a princess who fights for a kingdom, to bring back the life and light her kingdom once had.
