July 1 Update Graphic

July 1, 2020

Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,

I would like to thank those Warren families and staff who participated in our 20-21 S.A.F.E Reopening webinar last night. We will be posting the webinar recording to our district website later this week. The purpose of the webinar was to provide information on the upcoming 20-21 school year and to hear questions from our families and staff. We will be creating a frequently asked question, FAQ, document and adding that to our website as well. Please know that we want you to be informed so that you can make the best decision for you and your family. Our comprehensive S.A.F.E reopening plan will be shared no later than July 15 assuming that Marion County enters Stage 5 of reopening.

We are hosting several on site registration locations to make registration more accessible. If you are a current Warren family and will be selecting the IN PERSON model, you do not need to register. This is an opportunity for current Warren families to let us know that they would prefer the VIRTUAL learning model for the upcoming school year. It is also an opportunity for new Warren families to register their students for the 20-21 school year. Our next onsite registration is available Tuesday, July 7th at Warren Central High School from 9 AM - 5 PM. Students of any grade level or school can be registered at this location. You can contact our hotline at 317-608-0545 with registration needs.

Due to the 4th of July weekend, our food outreach will take place tomorrow, Thursday July 2nd in place of Friday, July 3rd. There will be no locations serving on Friday, July 3rd.

This is a reminder for all Seniors who have not returned their Chromebook. Unfortunately, it is not a graduation gift. We will need to collect your Chromebook for next year. Please drop off your Chromebook at Walker Career Center at door 70 Monday - Friday from 11:00-1:00. Students in grades Kindergarten - 11th grade who have their devices at home should be prepared to bring their device along with their charger and case on the first day of school.

Today is the last day for the COVID-19 drive thru testing at the high school. Thank you the Marion County Public Health Department for making this service available to the Far Eastside.

Thank you for your ongoing investment in Warren students and schools.

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
